Sref Testing Procedure in Midjourney

  1. Turn off your Personalisation Code/Global Profile.
  2. Test it with an empty prompt by using "" and the sref code. See what happens.
  3. Decide on the purpose for testing: composition, color, texture, ...
  4. Start off with one fixed baseline prompt for a subject without the --sref code:
    1. object: a ceramic vase placed on a wooden table, natural daylight, centered composition, studio lighting --ar 3:4 --style raw --v 7
  5. Add the --sref code to the fixed baseline prompt.
    1. a portrait of a young woman looking at the camera, centered composition, neutral expression --sref 1234567890 --ar 3:4 --style raw --v 7
  6. Stick to one variable and change the numbers (keep the baseline prompt):
    1. style weight parameter: --sw 250, --sw 500, --sw 750, --sw 1000
    2. a portrait of a young woman looking at the camera, centered composition, neutral expression --sref 1234567890 --sw 250 --ar 3:4 --style raw --v 7
  7. Right-click on image and use the describe feature in Midjourney or use Reve's Edit Prompt feature or open ChatGPT and let it describe with these categories in short keywords:
    1. subject
    2. framing/composition
    3. style
    4. texture
    5. color
    6. lighting
    7. shadow
    8. mood
    9. setting
    10. technical parameters
  8. Alter the subject
    1. human: a portrait of a young woman looking at the camera, centered composition, neutral expression --ar 3:4 --style raw --v 7
    2. landscape: a wide valley surrounded by mountains, cloudy sky, distant trees, calm atmosphere, no people --ar 16:9 --style raw --v 7
    3. illustration: an illustration of a girl reading a book under a tree, side view, calm atmosphere, minimal background, balanced composition, natural lighting, no stylization --ar 3:4 --style raw --v 7
    4. animal: a standing fox in a natural forest clearing, looking toward the camera, full body, neutral pose, natural daylight, no dramatic effects --ar 3:4 --style raw --v 7

Blending sref codes

Suggestions by Tatiana Tsiguleva:

Step 1: Run the prompt 'test --sw 1000 --draft' multiple times.

Step 2: Create pairs of sref codes (mix two codes—either similar vibe/colors or intentionally opposite).

Step 3: Pick the pair you like most, but note what’s missing.

Step 4: Lower --sw to 500, add your p code with --s 500, and remove --draft.

Step 5: Add a third random code and iterate many times. Example: 'test --ar 3:4 --sref 3504537004 1296666443 random --profile l3h4vio --sw 500 --stylize 500 --r 10'
